Ciao, I’m Barbara Allaria, the ounder and MD of International Service. I began my career as a freelance interpreter and translator in 1986 as soon as I graduated from the S.S.I.T. School for Interpreters and Translators in Milan. In 1987 I realised my dream of opening a business offering specialist language services based in my hometown, right in the heart of Northern Italy’s industrial triangle where there was a gap in the market at that time. The response was immediately very positive, which confirmed that I was on the right track and spurred me on. After completing my degree in foreign languages and literature in 1990, I expanded our range of services and started working with major industrial companies both in Italy and overseas.
I have two children and a great love of sports. I swam competitively for many years and now help to run two swim clubs plus I also manage the press office for the Italian Federation of American Football (FIDAF) and several sports teams and clubs (Team Insubrika, Gallarate Swim Club and Blue Storms Busto Arsizio).
I have always striven to incorporate the ideals in which I believe in my work: sincerity, reliability, loyalty and a touch of fun. My suppliers are also my friends, and my clients are people with whom I love to share enjoyment as well as business interests. Their business becomes my business, their passion becomes my mission.
